Sevenoaks IBC v Mote park. KL. Wednesday 29th November

KENT LEAGUE 29th November MOTE PARK 8  SEVENOAKS 4
105 shots to 56

The ladies first win of the season was 8-4 at home to Mote Park.  The Maidstone team gained their revenge with the same score, but well done to the two rinks who were successful.

Jenny Barnes, Captain Lynn Thomson, Joy-Ann Hemmings and Ann Munro took a 10-2 lead after 9 ends but then a series of single shots from the opposition closed the gap to 10-9.   A confident final two ends saw Sevenoaks regain the initiative and clock up a further 5 shots for their 15-9 victory.

The Mote Park bowling carpet is relatively new and still a bit pushy but Sally Burton, Diana Purssell, Mary Gardiner and Anne Welch coped well.  They opened up a 13-10 lead going into the last end and then contained the opposition to a single shot for a fine win.

A 6 shot defeat suffered by Skip Ann Moss, plus two heavy defeats by skips Brenda Bennett and Sue Wallis, contributed a rather dismal overall shots loss.
