Lost 2-4 on the rinks, but won overall 102 shots to 95
Oyster ladies dropped out of the Kent League at the start of the season but were happy to make the trip to Sevenoaks for a friendly 6-triples game, and we will return the favour in March.
Sevenoaks led by over 20 shots at one stage, but Oyster slowly closed the gap, Sevenoaks clinging on for a 7 shots victory at the finish. This was largely due to a massive 32-9 win by Captain Ann Munro and her team of Gail Leathers and Joy-Ann Hemmigs. It is usual for the opposing captain to field a strong team but this was definitely not the case in this match. Well done to Gail in her first match for the ladies team.
The second win came from Val Stevens, Barbara Taylor and skip Mel Bridges. Trailing 8-11 after 13 ends, Sevenoaks picked up a single shot followed by a count of six, and then another single to take a commanding 16-11 lead. Credit to the Oyster ladies who won the final two ends but could only add a further three shots.
