SEVENOAKS 2 FOLKESTONE 10
52 SHOTS TO 89
This was a hard afternoon against a strong club but at least Sevenoaks improved on the 12-0 defeat from their trip to Folkestone earlier in the season, albeit by only two points though. The lone victory came on Captain Lynn Thomson’s rink, along with Dot Fuller, Mel Bridges and skip Brenda Bennett.
The score was close throughout with Sevenoaks holding a narrow 10-7 lead after ten ends, which was never relinquished. The four home ladies were all on good form and a run of four successive winning ends at a vital stage of the game enabled them to achieve a most satisfying 16-13 win.
Ann Welch’s rink were in contention throughout only losing narrowly 10-13. Val Porter played her first Kent League game gaining good experience despite being on a losing rink.
