Yetton Trophy 2nd Round. Sevenoaks v Folkstone IBC. Saturday 19th Nov

Sevenoaks Ladies put up a good fight against the strong Folkestone Club, batting well on three rinks but suffering a heavy defeat on the fourth. The two rinks skipped by Ann Munro and Sue Walis on the away green excelled.  Munro’s foursome managed a 20-20 draw having led 20-15 after 18 ends.  Wallis’s rink were level 15-15 after
18 ends but slipped to a 15-18 defeat.  Nevertheless a fine performance after the long trip to Folkestone.

On the home green, Brenda Bennett’s ladies were slow off the mark and found themselves 0-9 down after 7 ends and 1-13 after 9 ends.   However, they finally managed to find some good form, won 9 of the next 14 ends and gave Folkestone a scare in the process.   Three shots on the final end to Sevenoaks gave them a very respectable 15-18 scoreline.

Unfortunately the other home rink suffered a heavy defeat, their players shall be nameless!
