Saturday 14th January
WHITE OAK 3 SEVENOAKS 7
77 shots to 81.
The Ladies have done it again, a second consecutive 7-3 victory!
White Oak had a new carpet put down a while ago and this took some adjusting to for the Sevenoaks ladies.
Performance of the day came from Sally Burton, Dianne Wills, Joy-Ann Hemmings and Ann Munro who romped home 27-7. Always ahead and leading 16-7, they won the last five ends notching up ten shots in the process. This valuable win helped cancel out the 9-27 loss suffered by Jane Taylor’s foursome. Marian Greenouff, Jessie Thompson, Lynn Thomson and Anne Welch’s 21-11 success also played a big part in the Sevenoaks victory.
Sue Wallis and her ladies went down by four shots 15-19 as did Brenda Bennett’s rink, only their score was 9-13. This was the Captain’s rink, Rosemary Tuck being the Sevenoaks captain of the day, with Dot Fuller and Diana Purssell making up the side. Although they were always in arrears, on fourteen of the eighteen ends only one shot was scored, which indicates the closeness of the game.
