ASHFORD. Ladies Kent League. Saturday 7th March, 2020

SEVENOAKS LADIES 1/2 ASHFORD 9 1/2

100 SHOTS TO 124

Three and a half hours bowling for just half a point, we deserved better!

Sylvia Steifel was captain of the day against her former club and what a high scoring game it was on the captains rink.  24-29 in favour of Ashford, 53 shots in 21 ends.

Rosemary Tuck, making a welcome return to KL games and playing as skip, helped her team to a spirited performance.   In a very tight finish, Sevenoaks needing 5 shots on the final end to draw, gave the opposition a fright as the shots mounted up but finally only managing to score 4.  Anne Welch’s foursome went into the final end 12-12 but despite a valiant effort, could not prevent Ashford scoring a brace.
Linda George, Sally Garvey, Joan Moffat and Ann Munro were responsible for the half point drawing 16-16.   Shirley Christian played well in her debut KL game and we hope she will have enjoyed the experience enough to put her name down again.
