Sevenoaks IBC v Folkstone IBC. Ladies. KL. Wednesday 22nd February

Sevenoaks Ladies 2 Folkestone 8
70 shots to 79

We gave Folkestone a good run for their money, only losing by 9 shots and winning on two of the three rinks.  Losing on overall shots is always a blow as it costs a team five points.

Sue Hogg, Jessie Thomson, Joy-Ann Hemmings and Sue Wallis had a marvellous start winning 10 of the first 11 ends and opening up a 13-1 lead.  The opposition did begin to improve but  Sevenoaks ladies continued to shine, winning 20-8.

Marian Greenouff, Jeannette Kisnorbo, Eve Strudwick and Brenda Bennett were given a hard time by their opposition and held a narrow 11-10 lead with four ends to play.   However, they won those four ends notching up ten shots in the process for a fine 21-10 victory.

Sevenoaks almost got themselves another point when Rosemary Tuck’s rink were 13-14 after 16 ends.  Unfortunately the chance slipped away as they dropped two single shots on the final two ends.
